An affirmation is a sentence that we repeat again and again to get our mind to believe it. Spiritual people use affirmations to improve self-confidence, replace negative thoughts and manifest goals.
Affirmations are based on the principles of positive thinking. This means that an affirmation is worded positively, without any negations, and as though the event you are trying to manifest has already materialised in the present moment.
For example, a business man who wants to increase visitors to his website might affirm:
- 100 new clients come to my website each month
- The loving energy of my website resonates with 100 new clients each month.
These variations are much stronger than “I will have more traffic on my website” or “The number of visitors will increase” because they focus on a specific outcome (100 new clients) as though it has already been achieved.
How to create an affirmation that supports your marketing activities
You can write your own affirmations to help you move closer to specific marketing goals – whether that be a successful virtual trade show, a specific number of page views or a high-value product launch.
To maximise the positive effect of your affirmation, keep in mind these principles:
- Connect your desired outcome to a positive emotion, like love or joy. You can just begin your affirmation with “I am grateful for …”, “I am happy because …”, “I am delighted…”, “I feel blessed that …” and similar.
- Formulate your goals in the present, as though they have already been achieved. Your mind processes your affirmation as you say it, so if you affirm something for the future, it ‘thinks’ that you don’t want it now.
- Be open to something better than what you envision. We limit ourselves based on what we think is possible and realistic, but the constraints we see are often mere constraints in our mind. That’s why it’s best to avoid words like “less than”, “just a little” and “some” in your affirmations. Instead, focus on precisely what you want and add “or something Better” to the end of your affirmation.
- Always word your affirmation so that it comes from your perspective. When you experience a challenging problem that you want to solve, it can be tempting to envision a solution that involves others. For example, “All people are friendly” or “All problems evaporate and the solution is clear.” However, these affirmations interfere with the free will and autonomy of others. Instead, you want to change the wording slightly so it lines with your perception, e.g. “I meet friendly people” or “All my problems evaporate as I can clearly see the solution.”

How to use affirmations in your marketing day-to-day
Once you have (a list of) affirmations that you want to adopt, you can program yourself to believe these affirmations in different ways. For example:
Programming affirmations with a glass of water
- Fill a glass of water and then say “I hereby ask you, my holy and purest water, to take this affirmation and let its energy spread into each and every one of your particles”, followed by your affirmations. You can then drink the glass of water and picture how the energy from water goes into your cells.
- Write your affirmation on a piece of paper. Then fill a glass of water, and place it on top of the paper with your affirmation. Take sips of water from the glass throughout the day.
Placing affirmations on a specific object
- Write your affirmation on a piece of paper or cardboard. Then place that affirmation in a photo frame and hang the photo frame on the wall where you can see it.
- Take an object of your choosing, e.g. a healing stone, a pen you work with, your laptop, etc. and program a specific affirmation into that object by speaking to that object and asking it to adopt the energy of your affirmation. This is particularly useful if you touch the object regularly and/or it supports you day-to-day in your marketing work.
- You can also place affirmations digitally, e.g. as a desktop background or in a particular piece of software or a document you visit regularly.
Reciting affirmations
- Find a quiet place to sit, and take 5 minutes each day, to recite your affirmation. Repeat the affirmation until you can feel it be true in every part of your body.
- Take your phone or another device, and record yourself say your affirmation multiple times. Then play this recording to yourself each evening before bedtime.
- Go on a walk and say the affirmation to yourself (out loud or in your mind) for the full duration of your walk.
Combine affirmations with visualisation
- Say your affirmation out loud, and as you speak each word, picture the reality in which that affirmation is true. Feel how it feels to be in this state, to see what you see, what beliefs and ideas and mindset you have now that your affirmation has manifested itself. Stay in this emotional and mental state for as long as you can to manifest it in line with the law of attraction.
